Air Traffic Control Operations Supervisor

As an Operations Supervisor within an enroute facility, you will be tasked with overseeing and coordinating operations in designated areas of responsibility. This role involves providing direct supervision to a team of both Developmental and Certified Professional Controllers.
Eligibility
This position is available to current federal employees within the agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of air traffic control specialists who execute air traffic control duties within a specified geographic region.
- Strategically plan and allocate tasks to subordinate staff.
- Establish work priorities and schedules, and approve leave requests.
- Offer guidance, mentorship, and training to team members on operational and administrative matters.
- Assess employee performance and provide recommendations for performance evaluations.
- Address and resolve employee complaints, escalating more serious issues to higher management as necessary.
- Identify training needs and facilitate developmental opportunities for staff.
- Seek methods to enhance productivity and improve the quality of work.
- Adjust staffing and operational procedures based on higher-level resource decisions.
- Set and monitor goals and objectives for the team, tracking progress and achievements.

Reporting Structure
The Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager, with performance evaluations based on the effectiveness of achieving assigned program objectives.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate specialized experience, which is defined as follows:
1) At least one year in an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher position at a regional or headquarters level;
2) At least one year of facility rating or area certification at an ATS facility;
3) At least one year in a MSS position within an ATS facility.
All candidates must meet the qualifications by the closing date of the announcement.
