Job Summary

Traffic Control Technicians will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects by performing the following duties:

  • Implementing temporary traffic control operations to maintain traffic flow on a roadway construction project in a manner that protects and conveys the public in an efficient manner within a specified work zone.
  • Performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance and adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, company policies and procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, installation and service work-zone signs, and lights.
  • Coordinating services with the on-site client representative or officials.
  • Loading and unloading equipment into and out of company trucks.
  • Delivering and picking up equipment from customer job sites.
  • Operating a company vehicle and maintaining company standards with Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
  • Providing excellent customer service to clients and stakeholders.
  • Working collaboratively with team members to achieve project goals.
  • Identifying and mitigating potential safety hazards.
  • Performing physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED and ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally.
  • Valid license and knowledge of local driving rules and regulations.
  • Pass initial drug screening and background check.
  • Maintain company standards post-employment for background checks, criminal record, driving record, and controlled substance/drug testing.
  • Ability to work safely outdoors and under adverse environmental conditions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including changing work schedule and overtime.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
