Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Traffic Management Coordinator to join our team at the Federal Aviation Administration. As a key member of our En Route facility, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective management of air traffic, maintaining a safe and expeditious flow of traffic, and minimizing the impact of heavy flight demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Initiate traffic management instructions and restrictions in accordance with established procedures to maintain a safe and expeditious flow of traffic.
  • Assess the facility's capacity and project an acceptable level of traffic to ensure efficient air traffic management.
  • Issue appropriate traffic flow restrictions to adjacent facilities, space, hold, and reroute aircraft to distribute the flow of traffic and equalize workload among positions.
  • Maintain awareness of traffic flow, equipment status, airport/weather conditions, and traffic forecasts to ensure acceptable levels of traffic, mitigate delays, and avoid flights into undesirable atmospheric conditions.
  • Maintain currency on required positions of operation and stay up-to-date with all phases of facility operations and aeronautical/meteorological conditions.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (Notification of Personnel Action) containing information in Blocks 15, 17, 18, 19, 22, and 24.
  • Designated or Random Drug Testing required.
Qualifications
  • Must have been facility rated or area certified in a CPC/TMC/TMS at an ATO terminal/en route facility.
  • Selectee(s) must have facility certification, maintain currency, and medical clearance.
  • Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
Additional Information

This position is covered by the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program. Any applicant tentatively selected for this position will be subject to pre-employment or pre-appointment drug screening. Persons occupying a 'testing designated position (TDP)' will be subject to random drug and/or alcohol testing.

This position is covered under Public Law for early retirement purposes.
