Position Overview: The selected candidate will oversee a team of air traffic control specialists tasked with executing air traffic management duties within a designated area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and allocate tasks to subordinate personnel, establishing work priorities and timelines.
  • Authorize leave requests and provide guidance, support, and training to staff on operational and administrative issues.
  • Assess employee performance and recommend appropriate performance evaluations.
  • Address and resolve employee grievances, escalating serious issues to higher management as necessary.
  • Identify training needs and facilitate professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Implement strategies to enhance productivity and improve the quality of work.
  • Adjust staffing and operational procedures in line with organizational resource decisions.
  • Set and monitor goals and objectives for the team, tracking progress and achievements.

Reporting Structure: The Operations Supervisor will report directly to the Operations Manager, with performance evaluations based on the successful attainment of program objectives.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Submission of an SF50 form is necessary.
  • Participation in designated or random drug testing is required.

Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate specialized experience, defined as:

  1. Holding an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or higher position for a minimum of one year; or
  2. Being facility rated or area certified for at least one year at an air traffic service facility; or
  3. Having served in a MSS role for at least one year within an air traffic service facility.

Applicants must meet the qualifications by the specified closing date.

Additional Information: This vacancy may be utilized to fill other similar positions. The selected candidate may be subject to a background investigation and may need to complete a one-year probationary period.

Financial Disclosure: The individual selected for this role may be required to submit a financial disclosure statement within 30 days of starting the position.

Drug and Alcohol Testing: This position is subject to the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program, with pre-employment drug screening required for selected candidates.

Training Requirements: Continued employment in this role necessitates successful completion of a formal Managerial Developmental Plan, which includes required training and development activities.

Evaluation Process: Candidates will be assessed based on their qualifications and experience relevant to the position's duties.
