The Oregon State Police in Salem, Oregon is hiring for one (1) Full-Time, Permanent Information Systems Specialist 4- Service Desk Technical Analyst  position.

What will you do?

You will provide technical support on installation, training, diagnostic help, and operating instructions to users of technology at OSP offices throughout the state. You will troubleshoot hardware and software used throughout OSP including mobile workstations and local area network problems. You will also provide proactive computer support by routinely providing on-site support and maintenance and quality assurance to maintain Department software, hardware, network, and configuration standards. You may be responsible for the design, maintenance and support of the Internet and Intranet web sites.  You will also provide technical reports and information to management.

This position may be required to work weekends or on-call shifts based on business needs.

Minimum Qualifications (these must be addressed in your resume for full consideration):

(A) Three (3) years of information systems experience in:

Service desk technical support, troubleshooting and maintaining Windows desktop and laptop systems, familiarity with technical support  ticketing and asset tracking systems. Must be adept in using Microsoft 365 desktop applications including, Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledgeable in managing IT inventory hardware and software;

OR

(B) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;

AND

One (1) year of information systems experience in:

Service desk technical support, troubleshooting and maintaining Windows desktop and laptop systems, familiarity with technical support  ticketing and asset tracking systems. Must be adept in using Microsoft 365 desktop applications including, Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Knowledgeable in managing IT inventory hardware and software.

Preferred Skills (these must be addressed in your cover letter for full consideration):

  • Experience with usage of Active Roles, desktop imaging, printer management and support of peripheral devices.

  • Experience with trouble shooting computer connectivity issues.

  • Experience working with partner agencies, like with CSS (Cyber-Security Services), DCS (Data Center Services), and EIS (Enterprise Information Services).

  • Experience with a ticketing system.

  • Technical and non-technical training and documentation writing experience.

Special Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License.

  • Must be CJIS certified or be able to obtain certification upon hire.
