Position Overview: Wildlife GIS Analyst

The State of Oregon is dedicated to the stewardship of its natural resources, and we are seeking a skilled professional to contribute to this mission. As a Wildlife GIS Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's efforts to protect and enhance the state's fish and wildlife populations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical support and GIS services tailored to the needs of the Wildlife Division.
  • Develop customized maps, web-based visualizations, datasets, and analytical reports to aid in the agency's initiatives.
  • Offer training and assistance in GIS and related software through a help desk model to ensure staff proficiency.

Work Environment:
- Primarily office-based with extensive computer use
- May involve occasional travel and extended hours to meet project deadlines

Expectations:
- Adaptable work schedule with varying daily hours
- Collaborative team environment that values cooperative engagement

Background Checks:
