JOB DUTIES:

As Board/Program Specialist 1, you will work with professional licensing boards or programs to monitor and answer questions directly related to the board or program, in accordance with applicable laws and rules. You will provide administrative assistance to the board or program, which may include regular review and updates to the laws and rules, assistance with policymaking, and analyzing and reporting of issues. The work may include planning, facilitating, and administering board meetings and engaging with community members and external/internal stakeholders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITES:

If you are the right person for this opportunity, you will have the following knowledge, skills or abilities:

Knowledge of (or ability to learn in a reasonable amount of time):

Application and Investigation of State and Federal regulations. Previous work experience with regulations would be beneficial. Effective Customer Service and Relationship Management techniques for working with people with diverse backgrounds. Principles of program improvement and evaluation Computers and business software applications including information databases, spreadsheets, word processing, email, presentation, and internet.

Skill in:

Application and Investigation of State and Federal regulations. Previous work experience with regulations would be beneficial. Effective Customer Service and Relationship Management techniques for working with people with diverse backgrounds. Principles of program improvement and evaluation Computers and business software applications including information databases, spreadsheets, word processing, email, presentation, and internet.

Ability to:

Manage time while overseeing multiple projects, either independently or in a team environment. Analyze and apply regulations, policies, and data to ensure programs are in compliance with state and federal law. Collaborate with others toward department goals. Present research and analysis clearly to a varied range of stakeholders who work with the department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Your preparation for this opportunity could include a combination of relevant experiences including:

Relevant bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, human services, or a related field; and, One year of program administration experience

OR

Five years of directly related experience.

OR

Any combination of equivalent experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered.
