Overview: The MRO Buyer/Planner is responsible for the acquisition and procurement of materials essential for supporting manufacturing operations, including maintenance, repair, and operations supplies, freight, capital equipment, and corporate services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and source new materials as required by various departments.
  • Streamline and enhance the purchasing process for MRO supplies.
  • Assist in the deployment of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Hippo.
  • Initiate requests for quotations and establish supply agreements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to achieve cost reductions and minimize lead times.
  • Develop systems for ordering parts and consumables efficiently.
  • Convert work orders within the CMMS framework.
  • Work together to improve purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Maintain work order tracking and participate in scheduling meetings.
  • Receive, store, and distribute tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Regularly update equipment history records.
  • Assist in inventory replenishment and counting.
  • Estimate resources and plan work scopes effectively.
  • Inspect and oversee tools and equipment management.
  • Provide detailed task planning and technical insights.

Qualifications:

  • Preferred post-secondary education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing and negotiation.
  • Experience with CMMS is essential.
  • Certifications such as APICS, PMAC, or SCMA are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Highly organized with strong analytical capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting.
