Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven individual to join our team as a Regional Event Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing basketball tournaments, with a strong emphasis on driving sales and increasing participation. This role requires a strong understanding of basketball, excellent sales and organizational skills, and the ability to create a positive and engaging experience for participants.Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Participant Acquisition:
    • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to attract teams, sponsors, and vendors to our basketball tournaments.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with basketball clubs, schools, and community organizations to drive tournament participation.
    • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to expand the reach and impact of our tournaments.
  2. Tournament Planning:
    • Create comprehensive plans for basketball tournaments, including scheduling, venue selection, and logistics.
    • Coordinate with facility managers, vendors, and sponsors to ensure smooth tournament operations.
    • Stay updated on basketball trends, rules, and regulations to enhance the overall tournament experience.
  3. Marketing and Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns for tournaments, targeting teams and basketball enthusiasts.
    • Utilize social media, local networks, and other channels to generate buzz and increase tournament visibility.
    • Create compelling sales materials and presentations to attract potential sponsors and partners.
  4. Registration and Administration:
    • Oversee the registration process, ensuring accurate and timely collection of team entries, fees, and required documentation.
    • Maintain organized records of team rosters, tournament brackets, and other essential documents.
    • Work closely with finance to manage budgeting and financial aspects of tournaments.
  5. Participant Engagement:
    • Communicate effectively with teams, coaches, and players to provide necessary information and ensure a positive tournament experience.
    • Implement strategies to enhance participant satisfaction and encourage repeat participation in future tournaments.
    • Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by participants promptly.
  6. On-Site Event Management:
    • Supervise and coordinate on-site operations during tournaments, including set-up, game scheduling, scorekeeping, and awards ceremonies.
    • Collaborate with referees, security personnel, and medical staff to ensure a safe and well-organized event.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in sports management, event planning, sales, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales and organizing sports tournaments, preferably in basketball.
  • Strong understanding of basketball rules, regulations, and trends.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, during tournament events.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and event management software.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
