Primary Purpose

Provides management and oversight of various invoicing processes to ensure timely and accurate payment of approximating $9.5 billion in annual spend, along with the administration of NS corporate credit card programs.

Principal Duties:

  • Assists in the management and execution of Accounts Payable departmental processes and procedures primarily focusing on non-PO invoicing and service entry, parked documents, and invoicing lag.
  • Manages administration of the NS corporate travel and purchase credit card programs, assisting in development of necessary reporting and leading regular meetings with key business partners.
  • Manages Accounts Payable recovery audit processes with third-party consultant.
  • Prepares, reviews, and/or approves Accounts Payable accrual analyses, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Supports the month-end close process by reviewing and performing variance analyses on assigned purchased service accounts.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for Accounts Payable, driving best practices and identifying and implementing necessary process improvements.
  • Provides exceptional customer service, leading collaborative meetings with key business partners and providing necessary training to ensure process understanding and compliance.
  • Validates and distributes accounts payable KPIs and metrics measuring alignment with goals and SLAs.
  • Leads, develops, and coaches assigned Accounts Payable personnel.
  • Prepares or reviews schedules and ad-hoc requests for external and internal business partners.
  • Collaborates with IT support performing root cause analyses to resolve system issues and coordinates testing for system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Ensures recording of financial transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, corporate policy, documented internal controls and other regulatory requirements including Sarbanes-Oxley.

Job Related Experience:

  • Minimum Level: 3-5 years Preferred Level: 6-10 years
  • Public accounting experience preferred

Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree (BS) Preferred: Master's Degree

    • Accounting
    • Finance

Licenses / Certifications: Required: None Preferred: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Technical Skills:

  • Strong ERP knowledge, SAP preferred
  • SAP Concur
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel
