Job Description

Primary Purpose:

Supports the Marketing group's commercial efforts through contract and product development, profitability analysis, market research, commercial messaging, and customer interface.

Principal Duties:


• Formulates decisions to secure and maintain business on assigned products.


• Identifies and responds on a timely basis to pricing and marketing opportunities.


• Negotiates assigned commodities with customers, other carriers, and other departments.


• Utilizes all available resources in order to maximize NS's profitability, revenue and market share.


• Participates and communicates with applicable trade organizations and is familiar with trade publications.


• Assists accounting in assessing the proper rates and aid in collection of Norfolk Southern revenue.


• Assists in the development of commercial material and messaging, including presentations, print, and other electronic materials.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: Less than 1 year

Preferred Level: 1-2 years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BBA, BA)
