POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Supply Analyst who is independent, results-oriented, self-motivated and wants to be part of a Dynamic Organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in the deregulated retail electricity space. As part of the wholesale desk enabling the growth of Chariot/174PG's business, this role will be responsible for running and maintaining all analytical tools needed for retail pricing and supply management activities in ERCOT power market working closely with Supply, Risk, Finance and Technology teams. Monitor and report risk metrics regularly to senior management, you will gain exposure to a wide range of businesses and products in a global environment. Liaising with Supply, Risk and support staff, you will ensure that trading systems adequately represent the risk profile of the trading books, and that risk numbers are reported in an accurate and timely manner. You will foster strong relationships with clients and stakeholders across all levels and interact regularly with leadership to ensure the market risks arising from day-to-day trading positions are fully understood and managed appropriately within the limit framework.

This role will be located in Houston Texas, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with our Head of Risk Management to coordinate all activities required to satisfy the needs around collateral/sleeving facility
  • Function as a Sr Analyst for Supply, Risk related IT projects
  • Help maintain all the retail pricing model inputs covering all the product types
  • Assist in the marking of all the relevant wholesale and retail price curves including implied hourly scalers and scarcity premiums,
  • Build and maintain monitoring checks to ensure compliance of all approved risk limits including position and mark-to-market reports
  • Work closely with the finance team to build the framework needed to help explain supply related drivers impacting forward and settled retail gross margins
  • Responsible for coordinating Supply related management presentations, contract executions and project management activities
  • Support financial analysis and deliverables for various internal stakeholders
  • Lead the buildout of Chariot Energy's financial planning framework, working closely with guidance from executive team
  • Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial information to supply team and management for decision-making purposes
  • Provide financial analysis support for the corporate budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Provide key financial analysis to enable both day-to-day and strategic decisions
  • Preparing financial models and data mining tools for variance analysis
  • Help establish forecasted budgeted financials against forecasted financials
  • Refresh forward numbers
  • In coordination with Finance, Supply and Operations, provide explanation of variance with actuals

QUALIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
  • Analytical - Proven problem-solving capability with strong analytical skills including statistical analysis,

  • Effective Communication - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Agility - Demonstrate willingness to modify position as needed to meet the needs of the business.
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's Degree Required in Finance, Economics or any other quantitative hard science.
  • 5-8 years of work experience in Energy Industry.
  • Experience in deregulated electricity markets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills coupled with deep analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to assess mathematical derivative pricing models within the context of real-world market conditions.
  • Strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under multiple deadlines.
  • PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced technological skills particularly financial modeling in Excel and Access
  • MBA and/or CPA a plus
