Job Summary

Coordinates and ensures company programs and projects are in compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, and areas of concern. Promotes corporate environmental policy, by educating and assisting employees to seek innovative ways to ensure operational environmental compliance. Coordinates environmental permitting activities for company facilities. Develops and conducts environmental compliance training. Inspects and provides advice on operations, construction, procedures, records, and training. Ensures compliance with environment requirements prescribed by laws, regulations, company policies, and company procedures. Provides regulatory interpretations for new and existing environmental regulations.

Coordinates and develops compliance plans for implementing regulatory changes. Prepares and coordinates reports and registration information to required regulatory agencies. Conducts analyses, prepares position papers, and prepares compliance manuals on regulatory issues and programs. Uses electronic databases to analyze and monitor company compliance with regulatory requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

2-3+ years directly related experience.

Good working knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations specific to the work location;

Good working knowledge of environmental operating permits and regulations specific to the work site, if responsible for contracted assets;

Logic and reasoning skills, to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternatives, conclusions, or approaches;

Respectful assertiveness, to ensure environmental compliance requirements are met by others, while considering the spirit and letter of the law;

Excellent interpersonal skills, to interface with internal stakeholders effectively;

Ability to give full attention to others, to take time understanding the points being made, and to ask questions;

Ability to influence others;

Ability to embrace collaborative problem solving;

Ability to communicate appropriately for audience needs;

Ability to share information and to facilitate open idea exchange;

Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education.
