Position Overview

REMOTE POSITION

Reporting to the EH&S Senior Manager, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) within a Waste Management setting. Responsibilities will include conducting site inspections, observations, and generating regulatory reports.

Travel Requirement: 25-30%

Key Responsibilities:
  • Regularly inspect operational areas to establish an EH&S presence and provide necessary support.
  • Conduct compliance evaluations, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to aid EH&S management.
  • Perform EH&S inspections at the facility and maintain accurate EH&S logs and documentation.
  • Oversee the Hazardous Waste Storage area to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including proper labeling, containment, disposal, and documentation.
  • Assist in adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare necessary EH&S reports, including Tier II, Stormwater DMRs, and other relevant documentation.
  • Provide guidance on EH&S matters and make recommendations to facility management.
  • Participate in incident investigations and conduct Root Cause Analysis.
  • Collaborate with facility staff to develop Task Hazard Analysis (THA).
  • Assist in creating and delivering relevant EH&S training programs.
  • Adhere to EH&S regulations, utilize required safety equipment, promote safe working practices, and address hazards promptly.
  • Maintain positive relationships with management, employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support the administration and maintenance of compliance programs such as LOTO, Hazard Communication, Contingency Plan, Hearing Conservation, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection, BBP, etc.
  • Follow all company and EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Continuously track key performance indicators (KPI) and assess progress toward enhancing workplace health and safety through data collection, reporting, and analysis.
  • Oversee the monitoring and administration of SMS/LMS platforms.
Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in an Environmental Health and Safety role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, ideally in Environmental Sciences.
  • General understanding of regulatory compliance (i.e., OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Experience in the environmental sector, particularly with hazardous waste.
  • 24 or 40 HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Experience in technical writing.
