Job Description

Reporting to the EH&S Senior Manager, this role focuses on managing environmental health and safety (EH&S) risks at a Waste Management facility.

  • Primary Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular patrols of operating areas to ensure compliance with EH&S standards and provide support.
  • Perform safety assessments and compliance reviews to contribute to effective EH&S management.
  • Carry out facility inspections, maintain EH&S records, and oversee hazardous waste storage areas.
  • Assist in meeting regulatory requirements by preparing necessary EH&S reports and providing guidance on EH&S matters.
  • Participate in incident investigations, develop Task Hazard Analyses, and deliver EH&S training programs.
  • Ensure adherence to safety regulations, cultivate positive relationships with stakeholders, and administer compliance programs.
  • Track key performance indicators, evaluate workplace health and safety progress, and manage Safety Management Systems (SMS) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) platforms.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA).
  • Experience in the environmental industry, particularly with hazardous waste management.
  • 24 or 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
  • Technical writing experience.
