JOB DESCRIPTION:Phoenix Rising FC is seeking a talented social media content creator who is passionate about soccer and has a demonstrated ability to create engaging content for a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate should be a creative writer, with a knack for adapting brand voice and storytelling. This role requires some experience in a variety of fields, including writing, video production, photography, and graphic design. The perfect candidate for this position is a versatile creator and self-starter, proficient in social media content creation and communication who can effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously. The social media manager will work across various departments to fulfill partner, marketing, sales, and communications needs while implementing best practices to grow all Phoenix Rising FC digital media channels. This position requires both independent work and collaboration with the broader content team. A positive attitude is crucial, as is the ability to receive and incorporate feedback to improve your work. This position also oversees the social content created by the digital content intern. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build and monitor presence across social networks and identify any emerging platforms.
  • Manage, coach, and lead social media team.
  • Manage budgets and allocation of funds across social channels while closely monitoring and driving return on investment.
  • Execute and manage paid media campaigns across social platforms, ensuring targeting tactics are optimized against relevant performance objectives.
  • Determine social media and creative strategy, planning, and implementation of campaigns to deliver against key metrics.
  • Generate reporting for performance insight, and clearly communicate results and strategic recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Drive the development of social creative across all owned platforms and partner with the creative team.
  • Create strategic plans and execute those plans to form compelling content at live events including practice, matches and community events.
  • Develop content approval strategy and creation guidelines using the "voice" defined by the Phoenix Rising overall brand so that social media mirrors cohesively with all other marketing.
  • Create engaging web/digital content in a real-time environment that can stimulate user interaction, discussion, and engagement.
  • Monitor the daily social conversation of fans, other brands, teams, and influencers to engage with the fanbase and gauge social media sentiment.
  • Manage and grow the social influencer database, including sports blogs and influencers. Work with these influencers to set up contests, promotions, and sponsorships of events.
  • Answer inbound fan messages through social media to ensure fast and high-level customer service.
  • Monitoring players' social media accounts and provide photos and content for players to post.
  • Assist with special projects and presentations.
  • Suggest and implement new features and technologies to develop brand awareness, like promotions, contests, and competitions.
  • Advise senior staff on best practices and strategies for social growth.
  • Liaise with USL, partners, and others to execute large scale digital activations.
  • Capture and distribute high-resolution photos and video for Phoenix Rising FC social accounts and other department usage.
  • Supervise social media intern to maintain consistent voice and brand values across social platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate social and digital media trends, content strategy and engagement in sports and media to identify new directions and methods to engage key audiences.
  • Accompany team on away matches to capture content for social media channels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and familiarity with photo/video editing.
  • Expert in all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok).
  • Experienced in creating and executing a social media strategy across multiple platforms.
  • Photography experience with DSLR and mobile phone.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and grammar skills.
  • Sense of humor that is pithy but professional.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision, be self-directed and demonstrate initiative.
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work long, irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays and be on-call as needed.
PREFERENCES:
  • 3-7 years of experience in social media.
  • Previous experience with a professional sports team.
  • Familiarity with Phoenix Rising FC. Knowledge of international and American soccer culture.
  • Experience in live event coverage.
  • Bilingual abilities (English with Spanish).
