St. Stephen's Episcopal School in Austin, Texas, a grades 6-12 day and boarding school of 710 students, is seeking a full-time Accounts Receivable Specialist.

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the collection of payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely processing of billing and collections for the school. This role involves coordinating with various departments, handling student accounts, and providing exceptional customer service to parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Billing and Invoicing
****Prepare and issue invoices for tuition, fees, and other charges through the FACTS student billing system.
Enter financial aid awards from Clarity to FACTS.
Record payments in FACTS.
Process refunds.
Ensure all invoices are accurate and sent out in a timely manner.
Maintain up-to-date billing records for all students.
Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation.

Collections
Monitor and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.

Account Reconciliation
Reconcile accounts receivable balances.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts.
Create Journal entries to General Ledger.
Reconcile Petty Cash account.

Reporting
Generate reports on accounts receivable status.
Provide financial analysis and reports to management.

Customer Service
Address inquiries and resolve issues related to billing and payments.
Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and school staff.
Provide support and guidance on payment plans and financial assistance options.

Other duties
Manage international student health insurance.
Manage tuition refund insurance.
Other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor.

Qualifications:
Understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including functions such as VLOOKUP, CONCAT, ABS, TEXT.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing excellent service to parents, guardians, and school staff.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Experience in accounts receivable or related accounting roles.
Associate's degree or equivalent experience required; college degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.
