We are building our IT Product Management team who support our Reinsurance Global Analytics and Advisory business.

As part of this new team, we have a leadership Technical Product Manager, Reinsurance opportunity, based in our New York City office.

We will look for you to help us define and oversee delivery of technical improvements and solutions for Guy Carpenter Global Analytics and Advisory, that will increase revenue, reduce cost and/or improve business process.

You will be empowered to build great relationships, with technical and non-technical colleagues, especially within Global Analytics and Advisory and our Technology teams, to understand technical challenges, identify opportunities and oversee the delivery of multiple projects into production.

You will manage your business application portfolio, help define projects and objectives, identify risks, plan workload, work on application roadmaps, help solve production issues, lead meetings and walk-through application demos.

You'll be able to communicate complex matters concisely, enjoy technical delivery, bring a creative approach and interest in new tech, ideally with IT system or solution design experience.

What you need to have:

  • Significant Reinsurance experience including knowledge of Catastrophe modelling,
  • C-Suite level communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build engaging relationships with technical & non-technical teams.
  • Experience managing IT or technical projects.
  • Experience in managing teams of both company employees and 3rd parties.

  • Knowledge of project financials (ROI, CapEx and OpEx)

  • Develop specific business-focused strategic plans to be used by IT in developing roadmaps and long-term solutions.
  • Work with IT architecture to ensure strategic priorities drives value for the business.
  • Help your business segment to understand the effort, risk and impact of making changes.
  • Understand & document business requirements and translate them to IT architects, developers, and testers.
  • Direct, plan and manage tasks related to assigned application portfolio including stakeholder communications.
  • Learn and understand all technical and non-technical aspects related to assigned projects.
  • Work with the systems maintenance team to ensure smooth transition when the project development is completed.
  • Drive issue resolution, develop business knowledge and participate in developing technical alternatives.
  • Respond quickly in a rapidly changing business environment.
  • Research and participate in training and stay current on related issues and technologies.
  • Understand security, privacy and regulatory requirements affecting your application portfolio.
