Packaging Team Leader

Position Summary

Hours: 2nd shift, 4pm – 2:30 am Monday – Thursday

The Packaging Team Leader assists shift supervision in providing direction and support to operators to ensure timeliness and accuracy in the completion of packaging batches. The Packaging Team Leader conducts training and participates in the more skilled work performed by Packaging Line Operators.

The Role

  • With minimal supervision, provide direction to operators in the packaging and labeling of full commercial scale batches, scale-up, development and CTM batches.
  • With minimal supervision, assemble, disassemble, clean and store packaging equipment.
  • Document packaging and labeling steps in batch records accurately and completely as required and confirm documentation is completed with minimal errors.
  • Perform start-up and in-process testing accurately and ensure proper documentation. Complete Inventory Control System transactions for components and finished goods.
  • Update work order when needed to complete batch.
  • Recognize potential problems and provide input on corrective action(s).
  • Lead SMEs in training staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry required OR
  • Associate degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry required OR
  • HS or equivalent with 4+ years of experience in a pharmaceutical production area, including leadership experience resulting in sound functional understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes or completion required.
  • Must be able to use inventory management system to assist in the timely start and completion of batches and documentation.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.
  • Must be able to use QAD (inventory Management System) to assist in the timely start and completion of batches and documentation.
  • This position requires you to wear a respirator for your safety, and as such, employment is contingent upon you being able to complete a medical evaluation with satisfactory results prior to the start of your employment.
  • Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted, and push a maximum of 100 lbs.
