Position overview:
Reporting to the SVP, Global Partnerships, the Director, Partnership Activation is responsible for the successful activation and fulfillment of partnership goals and objectives, including ensuring all contractual obligations are achieved. They will lead working groups of activation specialists at each property, while serving as the main point of contact (both internally and externally) for various HBSE Global Partner accounts. In addition, the Director will build strong cross-functional relationships at all levels across HBSE's portfolio of properties and will regularly collaborate with the respective Heads of Activation and other team executives to generate alignment and share best practices.

Along with current account management, this role will be responsible for revenue development through a combination of renewing/upselling/cross-selling current accounts, as well as identifying and selling new partnerships. As a new vertical within the HBSE portfolio, the Director must be collaborative, strategic, and a critical thinker who can complete and lead multiple key projects at the same time, prioritize (and reprioritize) projects and tasks based on urgency and importance, and be willing and able to personally complete any project or task needed to further HBSE's business goals.

The candidate selected into this key role will have a proven track record in building successful partnerships as well as a demonstrated ability to secure seven-figure investments with FORTUNE 500 organizations. They should have an established reputation and track record of success, gained with any combination of major brands, teams or agencies and is now looking to further enhance their reputation with one of the leading sports and entertainment companies in the world

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the below:
  • Manage some of the company's highest profile partnerships, through both orchestrating working groups and individual efforts, to oversee and execute across all elements of partnership contracts within the portfolio – including TV and radio media, digital assets, print advertising, stadium/arena signage, special events, hospitality and in-game promotions.
  • Work collaboratively with other individuals and teams to reach partner goals and objectives, ensuring all contractual obligations are achieved.
  • Deliver metrics that demonstrate clear, objective ROI and provide growth opportunities for corporate partners.
  • Renew/upsell/cross-sell current partners and generate incremental revenue for the company via new partnership sales.
  • Identify target prospects (both specific companies and categories) for new HBSE Global Partnerships revenue opportunities.
  • Research current partnership deals & best practices in place at all HBSE properties, understanding both category restrictions – and areas of opportunity.
  • Develop materials that make valuable contributions to other HBSE properties in the form of presentations, memos, decks, excel charts, etc.
  • Work hand-in-hand with various groups across HBSE to ensure compliance with internal processes (ex: CRM) and reporting (ex: KORE, financial reporting, etc.)
  • Participate in sales and strategy meetings and provide guidance on sales positioning, prospecting, and qualifying of potential prospects.
  • Leverage research tools (ex: YouGov) and self-generated research to provide analytical support to sales pitches, current partnership evaluations, prospecting opportunities, etc.
  • Create regular (annual, quarterly, etc.) business plans with activation-based sales and marketing strategies to drive new business revenue.
  • Develop & deliver customized and targeted sales and marketing plans, proposals and presentations (both internal and client-facing) in furtherance of HBSE's strategies for generating revenue through corporate sponsorships and other relationships (ex: premium/suite sales, ticket sales, other key partnerships, etc.).
  • Align the efforts of multiple HBSE business units to accomplish the goals of the company.
  • Project/event-based P&L responsibility.
  • Develop and deliver new tools, models and KPIs (including research and data tools) to focus, drive and monitor commercial activities.
  • Set meetings, coordinate schedules, communicate both internally and externally using email, phone calls, video conferences, etc. - and complete various administrative tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of account management/revenue generation experience in consumer facing commercial environments.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Renowned solution & platform selling pedigree.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing event-based commercial and revenue strategies.
  • A track record of driving revenue growth for major events (e.g. entertainment or sports events).
  • Known throughout the industry for poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong leadership, commercial, interpersonal, project management, and analytical skills.
  • High energy, excellent communicator, excellent teammate, engaging, ambitious, and has a "roll-up-my-sleeves mentality".

Working conditions:
  • Work Environment: This position is based in Camden, NJ and will be required to attend 76ers games, Devils games, Prudential Center events, Commanders games, NASCAR races, and other events (domestically and internationally) throughout the year as needed.
  • Travel Requirements: Will require travel on a TBD basis; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.
  • Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to move up to 10 pounds.
