This Consumer Experience Capability Strategist is the primary owner of portfolio capabilities and is accountable for identifying, defining, managing and/or ending life of capabilities within a business portfolio. The Strategist understands and applies business strategies, related market needs, and client insights to inform capability definition and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for successful creation delivery and optimization of capabilities in support of strategic business initiatives with focus on high quality and value - technology solution, data, and consumer touchpoints
  • Collaborate with applicable stakeholders to obtain appropriate market information/data and define consumer and business needs
  • Partner with appropriate teams to coordinate solution research activities (secondary and primary)
  • Drive prototype development and user testing
  • Partner with application product owners and technology teams on the creation of user stories
  • Participate in agile process to ensure business vision is being accurately implemented and meet market expectations
  • Ensure solutions are delivered on time and on budget, including identifying and resolving risks and issues.
  • Utilize related analytics, testing and design of experiments (A/B, Multivariate) to advance products and experiences
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic input to innovate and deliver ideas based on competitive and consumer market research and performance of our own solution
  • Constantly keeping up to date on trends and best practices
  • Leverages business priorities and translates them into portfolio Capabilities
  • Monitors capability and/or portfolio of capabilities to validate relevance and desired impact on target business strategy(ies)
  • Inputs to and/or analyzes data from Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) at an individual capability level or for a small portfolio, typically for an existing or established capability
  • Owns the capabilities holistically; Follows trends and anticipates what is happening in the market to inform compelling business case, business value statement, and customer story that is grounded in data; Plans and executes on insights learned
  • Uses enterprise-wide thinking and business knowledge to solve problems; Challenges current thinking
  • Manage an individual capability or support multiple across each phase, applying prioritization within scope of work and project management skillset
  • Establishes relationships with internal businesses for adoption of capability(ies) for broadest impact
  • Identify capability gaps between current state and desired state (e.g., system capacity, emerging technologies)
  • Accountable for delivering portfolio backlog performance against expectations and updates changes to the backlog aimed at improving competitive position, and optimal backlog performance
  • Uses creative thinking to solve problems; Challenges current thinking

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing and leading teams
  • 3+ years of experience in the digital consumer space with proven ability to develop and implement digital strategies that drive engagement and increase band visibility
  • Proven exceptional conceptualization skills, able to take abstract ideas and materialize them into strategies and execution plans
  • Proven excellent problem solving, planning and decision-making skills. Accurately scopes out projects, sets goals, develops schedules and resource assignments, measures performance, and evaluates results
  • Proven solid communicator; capable of effectively presenting ideas and selling concepts at an executive level; ability to conceptualize and effectuate change management and "out-of-the-box" thinking
  • Proven cross-functional influence and well-developed relationship skills, ability to drive initiatives, working across organizations and structuring approaches to new opportunities

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with al minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
