Class C Project Play Child Associate Para, 16.5 weekly hours for 30 weeks per year
Class C Executive Functioning Para, 11 weekly hours for 30 weeks per year
Minimum hourly rate of $21.15

Project Play Child Associate Para Job Responsibilities:
  1. Work independently to provide expressive play sessions with children to establish a positive, meaningful relationship that reduces school adjustment challenges.
  2. Consult/collaborate with the Social Worker and/or the "Primary Project team".
  3. Facilitate all screening and assessment of Primary Project candidates.
  4. Attend Primary Project trainings provided by the Children's Institute, as well as other training classes that enhance the productivity of the Program.
  5. Design and construct friendly space to include creative problem-solving materials.
  6. Communicate and correspond with the teachers, parents, principal, social workers, and the Children's Institute.
  7. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Executive Functioning Coach Para Job Responsibilities:
  1. Provide individual instructional assistance to students by following a tailored curriculum and assisting them with homework completion.
  2. Assist students with organization and time management skills.
  3. Assist students with goal setting and study skill strategies.
  4. Communicate with students and staff.
  5. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Job Qualifications:
  1. Experience in working with and building relationships with elementary school students.
  2. Evidence of the ability to work as a cooperative team member.
  3. Evidence of the ability to be reliable, adaptable, and empathetic.
  4. Successful completion of Children's Institute Child Associate Training preferred.
  5. Experience using "self-directed play", Primary Project mental health prevention model preferred.
  6. Evidence of the ability to work independently and display initiative.
  7. Evidence of the ability to customize appropriate pay methods based on individual need.
  8. Ability to work well with teachers, parents, and social worker in order to carry out program objectives and goals.
  9. Evidence of strong writing skills.
  10. Demonstrated flexibility and creativity.
  11. Demonstrated ability to take initiative and excellent record of responsibility.
  12. Demonstrated evidence of organizational skills, punctuality, and efficiency.
  13. Evidence of ability to accept direction from supervising teacher (s) and school social worker, school psychologist and work as a team member with other professionals.
  14. Evidence of willingness to abide by confidentiality policy and practice of the district.
  15. Evidence of strong communication skills and proven record of positive interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
