The Talent Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving various initiatives throughout the employee lifecycle (i.e. performance management, employee engagement, and succession planning) within Grubhub. This role requires a strategic and innovative thinker who can collaborate closely with global and local teams to create and implement programs that enhance employee development and organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in talent development and a passion for fostering a high-performance culture.
The Impact You Will Make:
Performance Management:

  • Design, implement, and oversee the performance management process to ensure alignment with business goals and employee development.
  • Partner closely with global talent teams to ensure alignment across the performance review process and ensure seamless execution
  • Provide training and support to COEs, managers, and employees on performance management best practices.
  • Provide real-time metrics and insights specific to the performance process to HRBPs and People Insights and Analytics teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of performance management programs, making improvements as necessary.
  • Manage the objective-setting process and provide insights around progress on performance objectives
  • Continuously seek ways to innovate and improve talent development processes and programs.

Employee Engagement:

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.
  • Conduct annual employee engagement survey and provide comprehensive analysis of employee sentiment and recommendations to address concerns to executive management, including identifying internal and external trends based on current and historical results
  • Partner with HRBPs to provide local insights across the functional areas they support
  • Leverage survey insights and make recommendations on actions executive leadership should take to address key engagement concerns, and reinforce areas where the organization is strong
  • Collaborate with internal communications teams on the engagement communications strategy
  • Partner with HRBPs to support and monitor local engagement action plans.
  • Develop an on-going employee listening strategy
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Succession Planning:

  • Assist in the creation and execution of succession planning strategies to ensure a robust talent pipeline.
  • Identify high-potential employees and work with leadership to create development plans.
  • Monitor and track the progress of succession planning initiatives, making adjustments as needed.

Career Development:

  • Partner with HRBPs on career leveling and pathing work, including competency analysis
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition on internal mobility strategy and analysis
  • Develop, organize, and facilitate career development workshops to promote internal mobility
  • Create resource guides and handbooks that provide step-by-step guidance on various career development processes

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with global talent teams to ensure alignment of talent development initiatives across the organization.
  • Partner with people technology teams to leverage tools and systems that support talent development programs.
  • Work closely with the Grubhub People Leadership team and COEs to socialize and gain alignment on initiative process and approach.
  • Collaborate with the People Insights team, sharing talent data, to identity trends across full talent landscape
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on talent development trends and best practices, providing insights and recommendations to leadership.

What You Bring to the Table

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven and progressive experience in talent development, performance management, employee engagement, L&D, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of succession planning and experience in identifying and developing high-potential employees.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage sr level (executive) stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically, analyze complex issues, and develop innovative solutions to drive business results.
  • Proficiency in using HRIS and talent management systems (i.e. Workday, Peakon, etc.)
  • Ability to execute deliverables on-time and with stakeholder input, ensure the end result is high quality
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.
