Overview

OATS from AARP helps older adults learn to use and leverage technology to transform their lives and their communities. Through its flagship program, Senior Planet, OATS works closely with older adults to create extraordinary experiences in-person and online. As one of AARP's charitable affiliates, the mission of OATS from AARP is "to harness the power of technology to change the way we age."

The Technology Support Agent will lead virtual programs utilizing OATS' curriculum, which is specifically designed for older adults. Virtual programs are primarily one-off lectures, demonstrations, and discussion groups focused on supporting older adults to thrive in the digital age and effectively communicating the relevance of technology to seniors' lives. Topics are aimed at harnessing technology to help one achieve their personal goals. Trainers are the face of OATS and fundamental in creating a community of support among participants. As a brand ambassador, a trainer is responsible for communicating the OATS culture of excellence, curiosity, and attitude.

Responsibilities

Teach technology courses virtually to large audiences using the OATS curriculum and approach, representing and promoting Senior Planet culture and opportunities to course participants. Create a comfortable and supportive learning environment. Offer personalized support to callers on the Senior Planet hotlines. Engage in regular communication with OATS staff, including feedback on site issues, curriculum, etc. Solicit survey responses, collecting "success stories" and enter data into the organization's CRM, Salesforce. Participate in trainer meetings, training events and special events, as needed (ex. outreach, curriculum, etc.). Supervise volunteers who assist classes, as needed. Observe and provide feedback to trainers engaged in OATS' licensing program.
Qualifications

High School Diploma required with 1+ years of experience providing technical support to older adults and supervising volunteers. Demonstrated experience with leading Zoom meetings. Ability to find creative solutions to problems. Ability to multitask and respond quickly to requests from teammates.

Hybrid Work Environment

AARP observes Mondays and Fridays as remote workdays, except for essential functions. Remote work can only be done within the United States and its territories.
