This role primarily focuses on Package, Umbrella, Workers Compensation, Automobile, and International coverages tailored for a diverse range of clients within this specialized sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the financial success of the assigned portfolio. The underwriter will oversee a renewal book while actively engaging with a steady influx of new business proposals.
- Achieve or surpass financial targets encompassing rate, growth, profitability, retention, and new business acquisition.
- Consistently meet or exceed established service benchmarks.
- Primarily responsible for account solicitation, risk assessment and documentation, pricing strategies, and the marketing of technology-related products and services to both new and existing clients.
- Engage with new and renewal clients as well as agents/brokers to negotiate coverage options, pricing, financial conditions, and service provisions.
- Foster relationships with agents/brokers to meet or exceed financial objectives and develop effective business strategies for assigned agents/brokers and regions.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of underwriters, underwriting associates, customer service representatives, claims examiners, and loss control specialists.
- Enhance the technical knowledge of underwriting associates.
- Leverage agency travel to cultivate a strong prospect pipeline.
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Exceptional sales, marketing, and negotiation abilities.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting is preferred.
- Experience in technology underwriting is advantageous.
- A proven history of establishing strong business relationships with agents and clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven capability in complex account evaluation, prioritization, organization, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment, utilizing various internal and external resources effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant business software.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
