The Position

Organon's Business Development function is responsible for identifying, evaluating, negotiating, and executing business transactions that add new products, programs, and technologies to Organon's commercial portfolio and pipeline. Business Development (BD) relies on building relationships and working closely with many internal functions and stakeholders, as well as potential partners and external parties. Business development is a fast-paced, unpredictable, challenging, and fun environment. We care about our ability to help build Organon's future and we are aligned in our purpose to advance the complete health of women at all stages of her life journey.

We are looking for a motivated Director, Business Development, Women's Health to become a valuable member of the team. Working with the Vice President, Women's Health Business Development, and the broader BD team, she/he will support project management, due diligence, negotiation, and execution of BD transactions focused in Women's Health.

This role will require strong business and financial acumen, excellent project management skills, creative problem-solving, and ability to convey effectively (oral and written) with all stakeholders both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

  • Support a variety of business development transactions, with a focus in Women's Health.
  • Contribute to the development of franchise strategy as it relates to business development opportunities.
  • Participate in the screening, tracking, and prioritization of potential business development opportunities.
  • Support cross-functional transaction teams through all stages of the project evaluation process, including evaluation of the commercial opportunity, clinical development plans, timelines and cost.
  • Assist in preparing executive level management presentations.
  • Help to establish best practices for partnering.
  • Contribute to building the reputation of the company as partner of choice overall and in Women's Health.

Required Education, Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in science, finance, or business (a graduate degree in life sciences and/or MBA is preferred).
  • A minimum of seven years of professional work expertise, including at least five solid years related to pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
  • Previous pharmaceutical or biotech business development roles and/or healthcare investment banking expertise is highly preferred.
  • Solid comprehension of drug development process, pharmaceutical marketing and sales, and/or financial evaluation is critical.
  • Demonstrated leadership, interactive skills and creativity in applying systematic frameworks to business issues are critical.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and steer multi-functional teams within complex and fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
