DeSales University, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania, is a Catholic, private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts university. POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Assistant to the President has the overall responsibility of managing the daily activities of the office of the president, coordinating all aspects of the president's schedule, and assisting the president as required. This position is responsible for directing the constituents to appropriate offices for responses to concerns, and safeguarding the president's energy. In addition to the president, the Executive Assistant to the President acts as a liaison between the Board of Trustees (BOT) and the members of the DeSales community.

The Executive Assistant to the President is an integral part of the office of the president. Primary responsibilities include:
  • Responsibility for all aspects of office management.
  • Knowledgeable in the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, mission, policies, and procedures which may include some familiarity of other departments within the university.
  • Displaying sensitivity to the interrelationship of both people and functions within the department.
  • Experience in handling a wide range of administrative support related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Interacting with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality which is crucial to this role.
  • P ossessing excellent written and verbal communication skills: strong decision-making ability and attention-to-detail are equally important.
  • Licensed as a notary public in the state of Pennsylvania.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Mastery of appropriate technological skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality and discretion.
  • Demonstrated skill in event planning and public relations.
  • Occasional nights and weekends required.
