Job Description

The sales department is expected to implement strategies to achieve sustainable financial results, maintain and grow customer accounts and lead the alignment of the Sales group to the structure of the regional defined business systems.

The Business Development Manager for the Industrial segment is responsible for the strategic growth of the BlueScope dealer network via targeted recruitment of new dealers. The Business Development Manager will implement strategies to achieve targeted recruitment results, grow customer accounts, and strengthen the overall position of BlueScope within the target market.

  • Execute to a high performance recruiting strategy and achieve recruiting objectives and targets
  • Develop recruitment plans and strategies to achieve goals, objectives and targets for assigned region with specific deliverable dates. This will include cold calling, networking, sales aptitude, etc.
  • Achieve dealer network growth goals consistent with defined company strategy and Market Intelligence department
  • Understand and manage the Segment position in the marketplace assigned relative to pricing, competitors, products and services, industry trends, and top dealer targets
  • Assume lead responsibility for establishing and developing customer relationships with key decision maker(s) within dealer organization
  • Manage recruitment of dealers in alignment with company strategies from Market intelligence, driving high value dealers into the network, and ensuring each area has a good balance of active builders
  • Ensure not just effective recruitment of new dealers, but also the activity of new dealers, new dealer onboarding goals, revenue, and margin targets.
  • Analyze and evaluate financial and operational information to identify issues and barriers for corrective action, through utilization of weekly management dashboards; monthly financial reports; budgets; sales forecasts/plans and other relevant reports
  • Develop effective customers to achieve segment volume sales targets to maximize financial results

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • College degree in Business, Architecture, Engineering, or other equivalent experience
  • 5 years field sales experience

Preferred:

  • Construction industry sales experience, or other experience working with or recruiting contractors or other members of the construction industry
