Definition of Class

This position is in the

VIP:
Survivor Support area.


This position oversees case management activities providing support to students experiencing difficulties by assessing concerns and determining the type of intervention needed and the best resources with which to connect the student.

The incumbent serves as team leader, supervises and provides guidance to support staff, develops and presents resource materials and in-person workshops for campus partners related to students of concern, manages outreach efforts to faculty and staff to facilitate support, and serves as a liaison to University departments and individuals to consult and advise on students of concern related issues.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Will provide support and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault, intimate partner violence, and stalking.
  • Will create and foster communities that support survivors of gender based violence.
  • Will provide prevention programming on consent, bystander intervention, and healthy relationships.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures regarding Title IX and Clery.
  • Manages and maintains confidential departmental records.
  • Monitors expenses related to peer education programs.
  • Will oversee peer education program by recruiting, supervising, advising, and training educators.
  • Plans, develops, and executes programs, projects, and other tasks in support of operational goals and needs.
  • Participates in the development of objectives and goals and develops procedures to efficiently manage operations.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Manages and maintains departmental records.
  • Serves as liaison to internal and external constituents.
  • Facilitates communication and networking among staff and faculty to build collaborative relationships.
  • Monitors expenses related to programs.
  • Collects, organizes, maintains, and tracks data.
  • May supervise, train, and coordinate the activities of subordinate staff.
  • Collects and analyzes data for use in making recommendations, assessing progress, reporting to internal or external constituents, and/or developing proposals.
  • Attends related meetings and conferences.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  • Assesses situations involving students of concern and determines appropriate courses of action.
  • Develops and presents resource materials and in person workshops.
  • Serves as a campus resource related to students of concern.
  • Prepares statistical reports.
  • Supervises and provides guidance to support staff.
Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Higher Education, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.

AND

Experience:
Three (3) years of related experience.

Substitution Statement:

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
