Incumbents typical work assignments may include the following:

Supervises and directs program operations through a staff of civilian and military personnel at or equivalent to the GS-14 level, engaged in the full range of human resources program operations.

Plans and assigns work, sets priorities, advises on program goals and objectives, and makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinates.

Administers and evaluates a variety of Human Resources (HR) programs within the CDAO.

Assigned program/projects cross traditional human resources management functional lines to include, but not limited to, Recruitment and Placement, Staffing, Technical Services, Performance Management, Human Resources Development & Training, Career Program Management, Management Employee Relations, Position Management and Classification, Incentive Awards, and other functions in human resources administration.

Initiates and leads studies and projects through planning and analysis as it relates to the measurement of program success and achievement of objectives.

Develops CDAO-specific policies and serves as the accountable Person for human capital actions in areas including staffing strategy and placement, workforce development, workforce restructuring and implementation, incentive awards, and/or other special programs affecting the workforce.

Provides staff-level advice and consultation to CDAO management on specific HR issues.

Provides authoritative interpretation and instructions pertinent to human resource regulations, policies and procedures, and develops guidance on appropriate course of action to high level managers and action officers.
