The Opportunity:

The Technical Specialist is an integral member of the Clinical Supply Center (CSC) team, in South San Francisco (SSF). The SSF CSC is a state-of-the-art large molecule drug substance facility that supports GMP production for phase 1, 2, and early phase 3 clinical trials. The CSC employs a ballroom design, utilizing single-use technology, new analytical techniques, and digital manufacturing systems to deliver a best-in-class bioprocess facility. We are looking for individuals to support this facility who are comfortable with ambiguity, have an entrepreneurial spirit within a GMP environment, have demonstrated strong Pharma Technical Behaviors, and have an agile mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical contact for the team, new technologies, and troubleshooting
  • Support troubleshooting efforts on equipment in support of the release of drug substance material
  • Initiate and lead projects that result in the implementation and optimization of novel methods and techniques
  • Contributes to achieving results in other organizations across the company
  • Strong Pharma Technical (PT) expectations specifically: Lean/Agile, inclusion, collaboration, speaking up, decision making, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in an agile and ambiguous environment
  • Commitment to quality and excellence

Who you are:

  • Specialist: BA/BS in a life science, engineering or equivalent, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Sr Specialist: BA/BS in a life science, engineering or equivalent, with at least 8 years of relevant work experience
  • Understand current GMP requirements and regulations
  • Extensive practical and theoretical expertise in biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes and process development.
  • Downstream Experience is a plus
  • Ability to work in fast-paced dynamic work environment

Note: Blue Badge employees at the SSFM facility will be considered first.

Relocation is not available.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California for the Specialist is $85, ,000 max and the Sr Specialist is $115, ,000 max of hiring range. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
