Your role will involve contributing to the development and implementation of advanced simulations for hypersonic applications, collaborating with a dynamic team of researchers, and potentially engaging in teaching activities within the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics.

Job Responsibilities
  • Contribute to code development for hypersonics, focusing on grid generation and CAD/geometry handling.
  • Collaborate with external partners to support wind tunnel testing and apply advanced simulation methods.
  • Work closely with code users to address issues, requirements, and implement new features.
  • Provide mentorship to graduate students and post-docs to support their academic and research development.
  • Contribute to proposal development, write technical reports, and present findings at conferences and reviews.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in aerospace engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in research training and practical application.
  • Strong analytical and computer programming skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent organizational, presentation, and writing abilities.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and creativity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in advanced grid generation and complex geometries.
  • Expertise in applying advanced simulation methods to turbulent hypersonic flows.
  • Familiarity with developing computer code for high-performance computing.
