Position Overview

The Senior Vice President of IT Risk Management and Security plays a pivotal role in our Information Technology leadership team, tasked with the strategic planning, execution, and ongoing enhancement of our Information Protection Program. This program is essential for safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our technological infrastructure while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Direction: Spearhead the formulation and upkeep of a comprehensive information security strategy and framework that aligns with the firm's risk appetite. Proactively identify and address a range of information security vulnerabilities while collaborating with business leaders to ensure compliance with established risk parameters.
  • Incident Management: Supervise and support the assessment and resolution of cybersecurity incidents. Guarantee a swift and effective response to any security breaches.
  • Governance and Compliance Oversight: Manage IT Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance initiatives. Evaluate the application of compensating controls, sanction exceptions, and liaise with both internal and external auditors.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee departmental personnel. Delegate tasks effectively and guide team members, ensuring optimal use of time and resources. Provide mentorship and coaching to staff.
  • Reporting: Deliver regular updates on the status of the Information Security Program to senior leadership and the board of directors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with over 10 years in IT, including 8 years in Information Systems roles, and at least 5 years in leadership capacities.
  • A robust background in Information Security, encompassing physical, environmental, telecommunications, network security, and software development.
  • Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as CISO, CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
  • Proven experience in leading Information Security operations, particularly in identifying emerging threats and implementing innovative mitigation strategies.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders, fostering support for cybersecurity initiatives.
  • A successful history as a change agent, adept at prioritizing and achieving cybersecurity objectives in diverse environments. Strong capability to evaluate the value of various cybersecurity technologies and make informed recommendations regarding new technology solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey cybersecurity concepts to a wide range of audiences, including senior executives and board members.
  • Experience collaborating with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to enhance daily cybersecurity operations.
  • Prior experience in establishing and leading an information security advisory board or steering committee.
  • Familiarity with common information security management frameworks, such as ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST, as well as knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., SOX, SOC2, HITRUST, FedRamp, DFARS, CMMC).
  • Understanding of security operations, architecture, access control, cryptography, and business continuity planning.
