Job Summary:
Benefits Specialist is responsible for analyzing, designing, and administering the organization's employee benefits programs, including qualified and non-qualified pension benefits. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of current benefits, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and providing detailed analysis to support decision-making. The Benefits Specialist will work with benefits vendors and providing support to employees.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Process monthly benefits billing
• Reconcile benefits premium adjustments.
• Assist with pension coordination and payments.
• Perform benefits audit, 401(k) retirement saving plan.
• Assist with annual compliance testing.
• Gather and analyze benefits enrollment reports weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually.
• Collaborate and maintain professional communication with internal and external departments.
• Assist benefits with annual enrollment, Benefits Orientation, and Benefits team projects, etc.
• Manage reimbursement procedures for Retirement gift program, 25-year program, and Charity fund program.
• Respond to employees’ benefit inquires.
• Maintain employee records.
• Monitor and maintain company intranet system, ServiceNow tickets, emails.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 Years Benefits Administration experience
• Strong analytical and accounting skills are necessary.
• Strong background in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems, with knowledge of Oracle/PeopleSoft considered a plus.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Worker’s Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security requirements.
• Ability to work in fast past environment, critical thinking skills, willing to collaborate on a variety of topics.
• SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) or CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) certification a plus
Education: Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related discipline
