Position


ACCOUNT MANAGER – CUSTOMER ACQUISITION


Job Description


Actively identify and pursue new business opportunities, focusing on "hunting" and acquiring new customers. The Account Manager will develop and implement strategic plans to penetrate new customers, reactivate opportunistic idle customers, and drive sales growth through cultivating relationships and offering curated products that suit the customer’s potential needs.


Duties And Responsibilities:


Identify and target potential new customers through market research, networking, and industry events

Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to identify opportunities and threats

Utilize market insights to refine sales strategies and capitalize on emerging opportunities

Create and implement effective strategies tailored to attract and secure new customers

Conduct needs assessments and develop customized solutions to meet the specific requirements of potential clients

Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers within target organizations

Provide feedback to the HQ, commercial, and other teams regarding market demands, customer preferences, and competitive landscape.

Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closing

Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure alignment and support for new business initiatives

Curate and customize sales collateral to be appropriate to each of targeted customer

Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust

Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to new customer acquisition and growth

Hands over accounts to key account owners and ensure a smooth transition; focusing on the next new customer to acquire


Qualifications And Experience Required:


A bachelor's degree or higher in business administration, marketing, sales, or a related field.

5-7 years of experience in business-to-business sales, especially in new customer acquisition for branded or PL, business development, preferably within the consumer packaged goods or similar business-to-business industries.

Believe in the potential of new customers

Excited about finding and capturing new opportunities

Adaptable to change

Naturally curious about trying new ways of engaging new customers

Skilled at managing multiple stakeholders & projects and prefer multi-tasking

Enjoy being out in the field, scouting for the next prospect

Have “fire inside” and “hunger for growth”

Aggressive and opportunistic; highly self- driven and persistent

Do not consider it “disrespectful” to seek out decision makers in an organization who are more senior

Are not prone to “giving up”

“Get” why prospecting is important

Understand the need to find and convert new customers as an insurance policy against the “same old accounts”

Strong at communicating our value- verbal and written- and tailor to match with different customer’s style



Primary Location

US – remote, preferred location is in San Diego with willingness to travel across the country to meet customers.
