What will your day look like?

Overview:

The Product Development Manager is responsible for managing the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs. The ideal candidate will have experience with Lean Concepts, time studies, workflow, and labor analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams to develop new products or enhance existing products based on market research and customer feedback.
  • Collaboration: Work with vendors, engineering, design, marketing, and sales teams to ensure successful product development and launch.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market analysis and competitive research to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
  • Product Definition: Define product costs, requirements, specifications, and features based on business objectives and customer needs.
  • Project Management: Create and maintain product development timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Manage prototypes, testing, and iteration processes to achieve product quality and performance goals.
  • Manufacturing Coordination: Develop and manage the product approval process with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure seamless production and delivery of products.
  • Documentation: Document critical criteria, processes, and specifications necessary to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Product Analysis: Analyze product performance metrics and user feedback to iterate on product features and improve customer satisfaction.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, including Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, establishing Pull systems, and Continuous improvement.
  • PPAP Process: Lead the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new or revised products.
  • Time Study Analysis: Complete time study analysis in a manufacturing environment to improve efficiencies and eliminate waste.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in product development, preferably in [industry].
  • Certifications: Green Belt Certification.
  • Project Management: Proven track record of successfully launching new products from concept to market; strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams; analytical mindset with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
