New Product Engineering Manager

Sigray, Inc. has an immediate need for a New Product Introduction Engineering Manager. The successful candidate will have an interest in hands-on work to aid in prototype builds. The company environment is close-knit and welcoming.


The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced as an engineer (preferably as an electrical, mechanical, or manufacturing engineer) for capital equipment manufacturers (e.g., semiconductor or analytical instrumentation)
  • Familiar with the mechanical assembly of complex mechanical and electrical systems
  • Able to troubleshoot electrical and hardware issues as they arise
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize
  • Communicative and comfortable in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent at documentation 


Responsibilities:

  • Be the liaison between R&D and manufacturing to implement alpha and beta builds
  • Transition a product from prototype to a reproducibly built system
  • Lead a team of R&D mechanical/electrical engineers and technicians

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, both data analysis, and critical thinking
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities according to current demands
  • Ability to deliver solutions under tight deadlines  

Experience: 

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering


Sigray is a rapidly growing company based in Concord CA that manufactures X-ray sources, optics, and systems. The X-ray systems include X-ray spectroscopy, microfluorescence, and nano- and micro- computed tomography, as well as several unreleased instruments under active development. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of instrumentation design and programming of motion control systems. 


The company was started by Dr. Wenbing Yun, who previously founded Xradia, a world leading x-ray microscopy company that was later successfully acquired by Carl Zeiss as its x-ray microscopy unit. Sigray is well-funded by government grants and has customers from around the world.
