Production Electronic Technician
Location: Merrimack, NH
Shift: 1st shift - contract to hire

Overview
The Production Electronic Technician plays a vital role in supporting the Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering departments by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and repairing circuit boards and electronic systems. This position involves performing essential tests to debug, evaluate, and characterize both analog and digital systems, as well as power circuitry. The technician will analyze and interpret test data to identify issues related to components and assemblies, making necessary modifications and repairs to prototypes and systems to rectify functional discrepancies. The technician will report directly to the Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance for manufacturing across various product lines.
  • Conduct manufacturing tests on products and subassemblies.
  • Utilize knowledge of electronic theory, schematics, specifications, and testing techniques to isolate failures to the lowest replaceable unit or component.
  • Execute rework and repair of SMT and through-hole PCBs to meet production quality standards.
  • Perform failure analysis on field failures and returned products.
  • Collaborate with Quality to investigate process flaws and component issues.
  • Design and maintain test fixtures, including cables, breakout boards, and test loads.
  • Assist Engineering in circuit debugging, evaluation, and characterization, while analyzing test data to help resolve design-related challenges.
  • Implement 5S manufacturing methodologies.


Qualifications

  • Proficient in using common laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and signal generators.
  • Strong understanding of analog, digital, embedded systems, and power circuitry, with the ability to troubleshoot PCBs and systems to the component level.
  • Skilled in soldering and inspecting to IPC standards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand schematics, BOMs, and other engineering documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.


Education and Training

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of specialized education in electronics.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic assemblies at the component level.
  • Trained or certified in IPC-610-A and IPC-771/7721 soldering and rework quality standards.
