About the Position


The Project Manager position plays a critical role in our team’s success. This position is located in Houston, Texas, at our headquarters, and will contribute to Public Management, Inc.’s mission of Building Vibrant and Sustainable Communities. Some of the roles and responsibilities for this position include:

  • Manage compliance and the successful administration of client projects;
  • Provide quality control review and maintain accurate filing systems on assigned projects;
  • Prepare compliance documentation, track project status, and update staff reports;
  • Develop grant applications and perform research for federal and state programs;
  • Complete program compliance monitoring associated with applicable federal and state regulations;
  • Manage and advise procurement and purchasing needs of clients;
  • Develop and present field evaluations and assessments;
  • Attend and lead workshops and information seminars related to job duties;
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors.


The Ideal Candidate


We are seeking to add a member to our team that is detail orientated with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to research, analyze, and synthesize data in an efficient and meaningful way is critical. As a Project Manager, the candidate must have a fundamental knowledge of the function and necessity of local government as well as the ability to adapt to changing program rules and regulations. The Project Manager must also be able to lead interdisciplinary project teams often comprised of engineers, construction contractors, and government staff. The potential candidate should be a motivated self-starter who can take direction from a supervisor or client representative and perform under little day-to-day supervision. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to operate a personal computer and have a high-level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment such as a scanner and copier.



Education and Experience


The candidate should hold a Bachelors in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting, or Social Sciences. Three (3) to Five (5) years of work experience in a public agency, preferably local government, or five (5) years of experience working in the private sector is required. The candidate should have administrative experience and be capable of time management and project prioritization. Excellent verbal and written skills are required in English and proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
