This role is tailored for professionals in the early to mid-stages of their careers, possessing 5-8 years of experience in Project Management, particularly in overseeing infrastructure, maintenance, reliability, and capital initiatives within the Petrochemical or Refinery sectors.

The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in managing a varied portfolio of projects at different phases, from initial concept through to execution, while adeptly managing cost, scope, schedule, and internal reporting obligations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to build relationships will be essential for collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve meaningful outcomes.

Operating with a degree of autonomy, this position involves supervising the engineering design, procurement, construction, and transition to production of capital projects, ensuring adherence to relevant specifications and standards to meet project objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure capital projects align with objectives regarding cost, schedule, and scope by overseeing the development, design, and execution of assigned projects in line with specifications and standards.
  • Conduct thorough cost budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and reporting for assigned projects.
  • Provide detailed scopes of work and construction packages, ensuring all necessary documentation is included.
  • Update Process Safety Information for relevant departments.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects.
  • Facilitate safety and constructability reviews.
  • Create requisitions for engineered items and compile spare parts lists.
  • Report on cost and schedule performance, including forecasting.
  • Address technical and commercial challenges related to project goals.
  • Initiate Management of Change, collaborate with site PSM representatives on PHA requirements, and participate in PHAs as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership, engineers, designers, document control, construction teams, project controls, and other departments.
  • Ensure the completion of all project documentation.
  • Exercise direct oversight over costs and the execution of assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • 5-8 years of project management experience in the Chemical and/or Refining industry, including experience with an operating/owner company.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Active TWIC Card.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or other Project Management certifications.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP systems.
  • Proactive self-starter capable of managing multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to safety, health, environmental, and quality assurance policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Ability to make informed, structured decisions and support appropriate actions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, adaptable to various audiences.
  • Team-oriented individual who collaborates effectively within groups.
  • Motivated to complete projects by holding oneself and team members accountable for deliverables.
  • Understanding of core work processes and a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
