Sr. Director/Director, Business Development

About the Role: The Director/Senior Director of Business Development will be responsible for driving the strategic growth and market expansion of Hisense Broadband's high-performance optical transceiver solutions. In this role, you will work closely with the product management, engineering, and sales teams to identify and pursue new business opportunities, build strong relationships with key customers and partners, and ensure that Hisense's optical networking products align with the evolving needs of the cloud and AI infrastructure markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy to expand Hisense's customer base and market share in the cloud data center and AI-centric networking segments.
Collaborate with the product management team to understand the technical capabilities and roadmap of Hisense's optical transceiver products, and effectively communicate their value proposition to potential customers.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key cloud service providers, hyperscale data center operators, and leading AI/ML hardware vendors.
Identify new market opportunities, emerging customer requirements, and competitive trends, and work with the product management and engineering teams to ensure Hisense's solutions address these evolving needs.
Participate in the product lifecycle management (PLM) process, providing market insights and customer feedback to guide the development of new optical transceiver products and features.
Represent Hisense at industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, effectively showcasing the company's technological capabilities and value proposition.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the sales, marketing, and operations teams to ensure seamless customer engagement and successful project delivery.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
For Director role: 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or product management within the networking/telecommunications or high-performance computing industries.
For Senior Director role: 12+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in a people management capacity.
In-depth understanding of the cloud data center and AI/ML infrastructure market landscape, including key players, trends, and technology roadmaps.
Proven track record of successfully identifying, pursuing, and closing strategic business opportunities with large, influential customers.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess market dynamics, customer requirements, and competitive positioning.
Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) processes and the ability to provide valuable input to the product development cycle.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of the optical networking industry's competitive landscape and pricing dynamics.
