Position Description: Chief of Staff

Ecompex, Inc. is hiring a highly motivated and versatile Chief of Staff with HR responsibilities to join our Headquarters team. This role will support the CEO in operational efficiency as well as overseeing human resources and recruiting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in people management and process improvement, with exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ecompex is a fast paced small business serving federal agencies for over 20 years. Our customers include Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Defense Health Agency, and National Guard. We are headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

Work location will primarily be remote.

Full-Time, Salaried position. Approximately 40 hours per work week.

Minimum Qualifications: Chief of Staff
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience in recruitment, people management, operations, or human resources
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a small team with little oversight
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and processes
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a rigorous background investigation to be placed in a position of Public Trust
Desired Qualifications: Chief of Staff
  • Preference given to those with experience with federal contracting or direct experience at federal agencies
Required Skills: Chief of Staff
  • Ability to research, prepare presentations, and write memos
  • Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with staff at all levels
  • Proficiency with Miscrosoft 365 suite and HR/Recruiting software
Responsibilities: Chief of Staff

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Human Resources Management
    • Oversee recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and onboarding
    • Develop and maintain internal and external marketing plans
    • Develop and implement training and development programs
    • Manage performance appraisal systems, setting golas and conducting performance reviews
    • Address employee relations issues, mediate conflicts, promote Ecompex workplace culture
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, laws and regulations
  • Operational Efficiency
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance organizational efficiency and productivity
    • Develop and monitor operational metrics to report on organizational performance
    • Manage quality management system
  • Executive Support
    • Serve as an assistant to the CEO in the development and implementation of organizational strategies, goals, and initiatives
