Overview:
TRC is seeking a skilled Structures Representative in Northern CA (San Francisco - San Jose) to oversee the structural elements of local projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with construction contract requirements and contractor's shop drawings.
  • Calculate and approve temporary structures for construction projects, such as falsework and temporary supports.
  • Verify field dimensions for structures and review contractor submittals for compliance.
  • Inspect construction progress to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare reports and recommendations on structural aspects for client review.
  • Ensure conformance with engineering standards, applicable codes, and technical design.
  • Handle general office tasks such as report preparation and delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years of bridge or structural construction inspection experience.
  • Four years as a Structural Representative on public works projects.
  • Professional Civil Engineer license in California (required for some positions).
  • Knowledge of stress analysis, structural mechanics, and materials strength.
  • Familiarity with Cal-OSHA practices, Caltrans, and Greenbook construction practices.
  • Experience in various bridge construction areas including foundations, concrete work, and more.
  • Ability to use leveling and transit tools for verification purposes.
  • Understanding of Caltrans field methods and construction office procedures.
