Job Description:

Position Overview:

This position offers the right candidate an exciting opportunity to ensure data and solutions are secure and compliant to the Conduent Information Security Standard, industry regulations and applicable law. This position is the last review gate between technical staff and implementation. This last point of review assumes responsibility for audit support defending these decisions: a combination of Risk, Compliance, and Security functions.

Position Responsibilities

The holder of this position will:

  • Manage and support web application firewall (WAF) changes and incidents
  • Review and approve network firewall connectivity requests
  • Enforce minimum necessary connectivity versus vendor-published potential connectivity
    • Often requires thorough research and technical analysis
    • Requires knowledge of common applications and network protocols
  • Ability to examine technical network diagrams and make security risk judgements for firewall changes
  • Exercise diplomacy in communicating with technical staff and non-technical management. This involves making determinations that often reject requests, communicating this rejection, and documenting same
  • Exhibit DNS and network engineering expertise
  • Understand web server configuration (ports, IPs, VIP, etc.)
  • Be able to correlate connectivity requests to vulnerability scan results
  • Provide both insightful technical analysis and near-real-time auditing, analyzing, investigating, reporting, and tracking of security-related activities
  • Work with internal staff to enforce corporate information security policy and standards, and assist in applying those security standards wherever needed
  • Develop new processes, streamline existing processes, and implement and administer security software solutions
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of business units undergoing an audit, and the SME for Conduents Security Group in support of internal clients
  • Work with Audit and Compliance Team (ACT) on audit related activities and respond to requests from internal and external auditors regarding Conduent security controls
  • Produce metrics and status reports as requested
  • Demonstrate constant curiosity of new tools or methods to improve security
  • Stay abreast of emerging industry security trends and threats to help proactively improve the security position of Conduent and increase the efficiency of security operations
  • Respond and/or participate as necessary, to security events and incidents
  • Participate in continuous information security skills development/training
  • Perform other duties as identified

Requirements for Hire

  • Driven producer who can work with minimal supervision
  • Critical thinking skills and an in-depth knowledge of network architecture, web applications, and systems to confidently challenge incorrect information
  • Absolute attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills
  • Knowledge of remote access technologies and their secure implementation
  • Knowledge of identity management strategy, techniques, and technologies
  • Seven years full-time experience in information technology security, including experience or training in OWASP, secure infrastructure architecture, server and network appliance O/S configuration
  • Experience with a variety of security tools and controls, including firewall rule-set review, log/SIEM review, file integrity monitoring, web-application firewalls, encryption, anti-malware, forensics, and general security/risk problem-solving
  • Extensive experience with relevant security standards, regulations, frameworks, and best practices such as NIST, PCI DSS, ISO/IEC 27000-series, HIPAA/HITECH, and SSAE 18
  • Ability to quickly create on-the-fly summary and detail documents to outline issues, problems, or infrastructure being examined: expertise in Visio diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Word, etc.

Preference given

  • Deep experience as a technical auditor performing complete review of system infrastructure including discovery and testing
  • Currently holds an active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and/or Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)
