Job Description:

Location: targeting our Nashville, TN office

**this position will work a hybrid model (remote and office) which requires working in the nearest Elevance Health office 1-2 days per week. The rest of the time would be working remotely (from home). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Nashville, TN Elevance Health office location.**

The IT Strategic Sourcing Team manages a portfolio of vendors in the emerging technology and digital healthcare space. This Strategic Sourcing Consultant position is part of Elevance Health's Global Supply Chain Team and will work on supplier contracts that interface across our IT sourcing team. This role will be responsible for the negotiation (i.e. strategize, contract and execute) of one or more sub-category sourcing strategies, with a specific focus on Cloud based services and technologies and/or Enterprise Software. The successful candidate will be detail oriented in contract and cost management as well as ensuring licensing, legal and regulatory requirements are in compliance.

How you will make an impact:
  • Executes standardized strategic sourcing processes for assigned projects, including strategy, contract negotiation, and execution
  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with internal customers and key suppliers for sourcing categories and various projects
  • Focuses on cost savings and cost avoidances during negotiations
  • Participates in fact-based negotiations and executes contracts utilizing approved terms and conditions. Recognize organizational risks, limitations, or problematic language and act as a liaison to facilitate meetings with business partners, suppliers, and additional subject matter experts or legal to negotiate appropriate and favorable terms for the company.
  • Comfort and skill articulating and discussing contracting issues and working with legal partners and other departments to resolve them.
  • Tracks communications and contract status in accordance with other processes. Owns the contract lifecycle, including approvals, content development, version control, and execution.
  • Implements sourcing recommendations and develops and manages e-procurement catalog content.
  • Collaborates on cross-team process improvement efforts to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the Supply Chain organization
  • Implements sourcing recommendations and develops complex Sourcing category strategies jointly with the product business teams
  • Works with stakeholders on new business case development for senior leadership
Minimum requirements:

Requires a BA/BS; 5 years of experience in sourcing/supplier selection with at least 3 years experience with negotiation of pricing and contract terms and conditions; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred skills, capabilities, and experiences:
  • MBA preferred.
  • CPM preferred.
