Position Overview
Napster is on the lookout for a seasoned, innovative, and enthusiastic business development leader to spearhead our strategic initiatives, partnerships, and B2B operations. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of managing and expanding P&Ls exceeding $50 million, alongside a knack for conceptualizing and executing diverse revenue streams for global consumer subscription and advertising entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and enhance our B2B partnerships, assessing new market verticals and preparing go-to-market materials to effectively engage and secure new business.
  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate partnerships that drive direct-to-consumer subscriber growth and revenue for Napster.
  • Conduct financial assessments of existing and potential deals to ensure optimal profitability.
  • Explore, assess, and launch new business ventures that contribute to revenue or subscriber expansion.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing business development and partnerships team.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the lifecycle of key partnerships to ensure their success.
  • Communicate the status of deals clearly and effectively to management, internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Perform financial analysis and business model planning to shape the strategy for our D2C and B2B operations.
  • Investigate and secure licensing opportunities and partnerships that enhance our Web3 offerings.
  • Manage relationships with the Napster Foundation to support their Web3 initiatives.
  • Establish and manage new distribution partnerships for the Napster service across various platforms.
  • Innovate creative licensing strategies for the Napster brand across both traditional and digital channels.
  • Negotiate and oversee all contracts with current and prospective partners.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Proven expertise in business development with a history of sourcing and closing multi-million dollar global agreements.
  • Strong industry knowledge and network within Web3, media, technology, and consumer products.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain robust relationships with partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Solid leadership skills with a capacity to build consensus among diverse teams.

Professional Qualifications

  • MBA or JD required.
  • 12+ years of experience in business development and contract negotiations.
  • 5+ years in a major consumer subscription service or product environment.
  • Preferred experience in streaming and mobile platform sectors.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% annually.
  • Background in strategy and business model development.
  • Experience in banking or management consulting is a plus.
  • Multilingual candidates are preferred to effectively manage global clients and partners.
