Tasks in the role
  • Ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with U. S. GAAP and ASC 606.
  • Ensuring compliance with Semrush's accounting policies and procedures.
  • Recommending and executing process improvements.
  • Acting as the first contact for revenue & AR questions.
  • Supervising the processing of orders, invoices, and cash receipts in Oracle.
  • Preparing revenue, deferred revenue, and other revenue-related journal entries.
  • Reconciling accounts receivable and deferred revenue monthly.
  • Assisting management by preparing monthly revenue-related reports.
  • Preparing ad-hoc reports as needed for various groups.
  • Providing US GAAP support to subsidiaries outside of the US.
  • Assisting with the automation of business processes and implementing new tools as needed to manage revenue transactions.
  • Acting as the main contact to external auditors for revenue, deferred revenue, and AR-related transactions.


Who we are looking for
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience.
  • Experience with public accounting is required.
  • ASC 606 experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, reprioritize, and manage multiple activities.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in mentoring or supervising other team members is highly preferred.
  • CPA or auditing experience is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is highly preferred.
