Position Summary:

As a Manager of Government Affairs in the Western Region, you will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of grassroots legislative and political initiatives across Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah.


What You'll Do:
  • Establish and nurture connections with members of Congress and their staff.
  • Enhance ties with local, state, and regional chambers of commerce.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Engage Chamber members on crucial policy matters.
  • Improve advocacy efforts through training programs.
  • Conduct research on candidates and issues.
  • Recommend and support political candidates endorsed by the Chamber.
  • Represent the Chamber at various events.
  • Contribute to the formulation of legislative strategies.
  • Reach out to Chamber members to boost the legislative agenda.
  • Expand outreach efforts beyond the Chamber's membership.
  • Manage media relationships.
  • Oversee social media messaging.
  • Collaborate with regional colleagues on national programs.
  • Cultivate strong inter-departmental relationships.

Requirements:

To excel in this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience in a congressional office, lobbying, political campaigns, or a similar role. Additionally, you should possess:

  • Knowledge of major business-related issues.
  • Political or legislative networks in one or more Western states.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak confidently in public.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • The salary for this position ranges between $94,000 to $97,000, based on qualifications and experience.
