About the Role

Caterpillar Financial Service Corp is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Manager to join our team in Sacramento, California. As a key member of our Government Affairs team, you will play a critical role in shaping and influencing public policy at the state level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including state legislators, regulators, and industry leaders.
  • Advocate for Caterpillar's interests on a variety of issues before state governmental entities.
  • Provide expert advice and counsel to senior management on high-priority issues within the issue region of states.
  • Represent Caterpillar's interests in coalitions, associations, and other forums, leveraging these relationships to support company priorities.
  • Identify emerging legislative and regulatory issues that could impact corporate objectives and develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
Requirements
  • Expert knowledge of public policy at the state level and understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes.
  • Significant experience in government affairs, including job-related experience involving government affairs processes, practices, issues, and considerations.
  • Ability to communicate complex information effectively to diverse audiences, including senior management, policymakers, and industry leaders.
  • Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge to diverse situations.
