Summary:

For a global leader in the technology field, we are looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join our AR Tech Support team. The goal of this role is to support the Data Collection team and interfacing with client Engineering Teams and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve issues with AR Hardware devices. The AR Tech Support team is supporting user experience, engineering and software development teams to manage new products and programs. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who will excel in offering troubleshooting and support, document known issues and gather feedback on client products.

Top Daily Responsibilities (not limited to):
  • Device testing and validation.
  • Device preparation and support for AR programs, including UX research studies and demos.
  • 1:1 Troubleshooting and user support for all users of AR prototype HW.
  • Development and maintenance of user support documentation for all prototypes.
  • Maintenance of weekly build flash stations.
  • Development of setup, diagnostic, and troubleshooting scripts.
  • HW bug triage, HW fault analysis, and RMA.
  • Run commands on physically connected devices, using the command line to move/copy files to connected devices and validate functionality by reading logs
  • Monitor status and health of distributed capture systems
  • Help troubleshoot custom Hardware solutions
  • Creating SOPs and other documentation.
Skills/Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Strong hands-on knowledge with Linux (comfortable in the terminal/console with SSH experience)
  • Able to use VSCode to remotely debug collection stations
  • Able to read/edit JSON files (if database needs editing)
  • Able to quickly understand and get familiar with custom Hardware solutions
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate issues with detailed reproduction steps to stakeholders with various degrees of technical knowledge
  • Able to provide feedback when new hardware doesn’t meet expectations (w.r.t., fit, hardware quality, comparing with previous iteration to determine differences)
  • Attention to detail and thorough workstyle
  • Experience working in digital/technology companies with tech products
  • Have a strong understanding and passion for technology and enjoy keeping up to date on the current trends
  • Ability to effectively operate with flexibility in a fast-paced, constantly evolving team environment with minimum supervision and a high degree of autonomy
  • Must be a self starter, with willingness to embrace change, quickly learn new technologies, work closely as a member of cross functional teams, and be open to new ideas and processes
  • Responsible for fulfillment/completion of deliverables within area of responsibility within set timelines
  • Knowledge and interest in AR/VR
Salary and Other Compensation:

The hourly rate for this position is $25-$27, dependent on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
